Gathering Place

Congregation Emanu El and CarePartners are excited to share that Gathering Place will resume its monthly meetings in February.

The Gathering Place is a half-day program for people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory loss held at one of over 50 partner sites throughout the greater Houston area. Emanu El hosts its gathering on the second Monday of each month from September through June.

Care partners participate in crafts, entertainment, movement therapy, lunch, and bingo. Family members with memory issues benefit from the stimulation and interaction.

Due to new protocols, volunteers must go through a CarePartners registration prior to attending a Gathering. Volunteers must complete a registration form, a background check and view required videos prior to attendance. These guidelines were implemented for safety reasons as that is a priority when it comes to our caregiving families, our Care Team volunteers, and our partnering congregations.
