This 90-minute, docent-guided walking tour tells the story of some of Glenwood’s notable women, whose legacies range from the suffrage movement to the silver screen. Among the featured subjects are Charlotte Allen, the wife of Houston co-founder Augustus Allen; suffragists Annette Finnigan and Florence Sterling; publisher and stateswoman Oveta Culp Hobby, who led the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II; and movie star Gene Tierney.
The cost to attend is $15 per person.
NOTE: This tour route involves a good deal of walking, including the potential of crossing uneven ground and walking up and down steps. The route is not wheel-friendly and is not recommended for anyone with mobility issues.
