6:30 p.m. Dinner followed by learning with Professor Matthias Henze
Join us for a special Simchat Torah celebration! As part of our 6:00pm service, we will unroll the Torah as a community and highlight well-known stories and moments with popular songs, accompanied by our awesome band. This will be a lively and family-friendly service!
Our service will be followed by a community dinner. The evening continues with guest Matthias Henze, Isla Carroll and Percy E. Turner Professor of Hebrew Bible and Early Judaism at Rice University, who will lead a discussion about “How the Bible Became the Bible.” There is no fee to attend service. Dinner is $10 for Emanu El members and $15 for community members.
