December 7, 2022
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Congregation Emanu El
We are excited to announce Michael Twitty, culinary historian, food writer and author of Koshersoul, as Emanu El’s 2022-2023 Endowment Speaker. From the Washington D.C. area, Southern Living named Twitty, one of their “Fifty People Changing the South” and theroot.com added him to their 100 most influential African Americans under 45. He also made the Jewish Forward list of most influential American Jews.
The evening begins with a lecture from Twitty himself about how “food makes a people” – particularly how food has played a role in his own Jewish identity – followed by a Q&A session and a reception and book signing.
Register today and reserve yourself a copy of Twitty’s book, Koshersoul ($20), while supplies last.
Please note there will be captioning available for this event.
