YP: JED Talks

Join us for an evening of conversation with Emanu El member and community leader Beth Merfish. She will speak about the intersections of her professional work, her community activism, and her Jewish identity. Beth will share the ways that her personal journey has shaped her transformative leadership on issues including gender equity, reproductive freedom, and racial equity.

Beth Matusoff Merfish, PhD, is Department Chair of Liberal Arts and Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Houston Clear Lake. She currently serves as the inaugural chair of the City of Houston Women’s Commission, a policy-generating body established by Mayor Turner and Houston City Council in 2021. She was a member of the inaugural 2015 class of fellows of New Leaders Council Houston. Beth is a proud mother of two daughters.
