Time

7:00 pm

Second in a series, please join us for the next guest of “Desserts and Discussion,” Dr. Joshua Furman, Founding Curator of the Joan and Stanford Alexander South Texas Jewish Archives and Associate Director of the Program in Jewish Studies at Rice University.

Recognizing the need to preserve historical materials that tell the narrative of South Texas Jewish life, since 2017, Dr. Furman has become an expert in the study of this area, not to mention a first-rate historian of the founding and growth of our synagogue. Come learn about the beginnings of this congregation through the eyes of an archivist and see some of the special objects that tell Emanu El’s story.

Drinks and desserts will be served. Free and open to all.
