An Afternoon of Learning & Volunteering: Family-to-Family Volunteer Project

- . Programming Register Now
Date

December 3, 2023

Time

12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us on Sunday afternoon for a volunteer project. This year, we will partner with Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston to support their clients through a variety of projects. Volunteers attending this all-ages program will help to create and pack hygiene kits and holiday gift bags for two Interfaith Ministries programs: Meals on Wheels and Refugee Services. In addition, the Interfaith Ministries leadership team will join us to discuss why these projects are so vital to their mission. Lunch will be available to purchase for $5.

Donations for the two projects may be dropped off in the rotunda at Emanu El in the bin marked “December 3 Volunteer Day”

Hygiene kits are an essential tool for helping refugees to not only stay healthy but to also maintain their dignity. Basic items, such as the ones listed below, may seem small but play a vital role in ensuring an individual’s health and wellbeing. Without these necessary supplies, the spread of germs and the risk of disease is heightened. Help us reach the goal of packing 200 hygiene kits!

The holidays can be a difficult time for older adults who may be experiencing isolation or loneliness. Holiday gift bags are a thoughtful way to show care and support to older adults in our community.  In addition, each donated bag is an easy way to make the holiday season special for each senior served by Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston and Galveston County. Help us reach our goal of packing 200 holiday gift bags!
