Houston Double Ten Celebration Committee Presents: East meets West- A Multicultural Celebration of Mah Jongg This program brings together the Taiwanese Chinese and Jewish communities through their shared love of Mah Jongg and food!
Featuring mavens from the Chinese Community and Congregation Emanu El Sisterhood who will discuss the differences in the Chinese and American versions of the game, their histories, and their traditions of bringing together friends and family.
Following the panel, enjoy a nosh as participants are invited to play Mah Jongg either with their own table, or as part of a demonstration table to learn a new game.
The event will seat 80 players – but you are also welcome to register to just attend the presentation and social! Food and drinks from both cultures will be available. Winner’s award and door prizes await you there!

Check in will be from 1:45 p.m. – 2: 00 p.m. The program will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.
