Chevron Houston Marathon

The EE Runners started as a group of people looking for a little community through fitness. Since that first Wednesday morning, friendships have grown and we have started to participate in events as a group. But now, we have taken the next step…

We’re excited to announce that the EE Runners are participating in the in the Chevron Houston Marathon as the official team for the Holocaust Museum of Houston. This is a great way for us to give our miles some meaning and support the fight against prejudice and bigotry. It is a personal accomplishment to cross a finish line, but it is much more meaningful when you are doing it for a reason beyond yourself. Whether you walk, roll or run, there is a place for you on this team.

There is no fundraising commitment to join the team. That means the awareness created by your participation is enough. If you want to contribute financially, there is no minimum commitment.

All of the events in the Chevron Houston Marathon take place on the weekend of January 16th. There will be a 5k half marathon and full marathon. There will even be a running expo on the 14th which is a fun event where you can get new running gear and learn techniques from the pros.

Overall, it is an exciting and well organized event. Seeing the city from a different perspective with the support of the people of Houston is very exciting and heartwarming. The half marathon and full marathon will take place on Sunday, January 16.
