This year’s Jewish Book & Arts Festival will be covering the timely issue of book banning, along with censorship and its effects on society for an illuminating panel discussion. Each of the panelists brings his or her own unique perspective on how book banning affects so many different parts of our society. Panelists will include Debby Kerner, a former Harris county school board member; Valerie Koehler, owner of Blue Willow Bookshop; Mark Trachtenberg, an appellate attorney with expertise in the public school system; and Congregation Emanu El Senior Rabbi Oren Hayon. Evan Mintz, Director of Communications for Arnold Ventures and former deputy opinion editor for the Houston Chronicle will moderate the panel.
