As the world continues to respond to recent events in Israel and Gaza, we have seen a precipitous rise in antisemitism, some of it blatant and some of it subtle, including in discourse from some people in the far left. Project Shema is an independent nonprofit organization that trains and supports the Jewish community and allies to understand and address contemporary anti-Semitism, with an emphasis on how anti-Jewish ideas can emerge in progressive spaces and in discourse around Israel and Palestine. Founded by Jewish leaders with deep ties in social justice movements, Project Shema brings a fresh and humanizing approach to these challenging issues. Please join ADL and Congregation Emanu El for a compelling conversation with Project Shema’s Co-Founder and Executive Director, Oren Jacobson, a leading voice in understanding how the intersection of progressive politics and Israel generates anti-Semitism. This conversation will explore what is happening in the discourse right now in response to events in Israel. What is being done and how can we effectively respond as a community?
