Congregation Emanu El proudly provides the following to better serve our members and guests.

Building Access

Wheelchair accessible entrances are available at the west Rotunda entrance and the north Foyer entrance. The Barish Sanctuary has a wheelchair lift for access to the pulpit. 
 

Services for the Hearing Impaired

  • The Barish Sanctuary is equipped with an Induction Loop System. With the Loop, audio signals are transmitted directly to one’s telecoil (T-coil) equipped hearing aid.
  • CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) captioning is offered on the second and fourth Fridays of each month in the Proler Chapel.
  • ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation is provided on the second Friday of each month on the Sunset side of the Barish Sanctuary.
     

Services Over the Phone & Live Streaming Video Online

Homebound or hospitalized individuals may listen to our services in both the Barish Sanctuary and the Proler Chapel. For access information, contact Stephanie Kamion (713-529-5771, ext. 217) or click here to email Stephanie. This service is available for Rosh Hashanh and Yom Kippur.

During special events, High Holy Day Services & by request we offer live streaming video from the Barish Sanctuary for Shabbat and High Holy Day services. Click here to get streaming video.
 

Large Print Prayer Books

Available at the entrances to the Barish Sanctuary and the Proler Chapel.
 

Transportation

Golf cart transportation between the parking facility and synagogue building is available to individuals needing motorized assistance. Signal one of the officers to access the service.
 

Respite Room

The library is open during services for anyone desiring a smaller environment.
 

Restrooms

ADA compliant restrooms are available in the north foyer.
 

Schools

Becker Early Childhood Center and Helfman Religious School welcome and accommodate children who learn differently.
